BIO
Beverley Sylvester (she/her) is a writer, composer, dramaturg, and musician. Her work is often rooted in the southern gothic genre where she interrogates the sticky, uncomfortable, and lovely relationships we have to death and dying, sexuality, spirituality, nature, politics, gender, and embodiment in the American Deep South. Her plays have been read and performed in Atlanta and New York City and have received the Artistine Mann Award in Playwriting, the New South Young Playwrights Award, and other recognitions. Her poetry has been published in humana obscura, Yellow Arrow Journal, ONE ART, Silly Goose Press, and more. She graduated from Emory University with a double B.A. in playwriting and music composition.
